About this deal

The Whiskey Row series includes the 1870 Original Batch, 1897 Bottled in Bond, and 1910 Old Fine Whisky (double barreled like Woodford Reserve Double Oaked). It combines the subtle palate thickness with the sharp orange and honey finish to elevate the cocktail to a new dimension. Knob Creek Single Barrel is one of my longtime personal favorites and one of the best “values” on the market, while Old Forester 1920 is a newer bourbon from the highly regarded Whiskey Row series, aimed at recreating bourbons from various periods. Bottled at 95 proof and wearing no age statement, the only thing that Statesman seems to have going for it is that the bottle’s label is unique among the whiskey row series, which all have a somewhat bland white paper label.

There’s a slight oxidative nose that isn’t unpleasant, but that probably comes from its medicinal origins.
