Unfortunately, this battery option is not available for our review sample. However, a longer battery runtime would be possible with the available 4-cell Dell Power Companion. The advantage of this solution is that the laptop's maximum height is not increased unpleasantly. These are the approximate years that the models shown first became available. Finally, the Latitude E5450 lasted 8 hours 9 minutes in our battery rundown test. That falls right in the middle of the business category, with systems like the Apple MacBook Pro 13-Inch, Retina Display (11:10) and the Dell Latitude 14 E7450 (10:12) outlasting it by a healthy margin, and others, like the Lenovo T440s (7:21) and the Dell XPS 13 Touch (7:40) trailing behind. Regardless of where it sits in relation to other systems, the Latitude E5450 should carry you through a full 8-hour workday without having to be plugged in, and that's an important bar for any work laptop to clear.
