About this deal

whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:31-11:1).

The Power of Faith and Prayer: The story emphasizes the power of faith and prayer. The pious brother’s unwavering belief in God and devotion to prayer result in miracles and divine intervention. This theme underscores the importance of maintaining faith even in the face of adversity. Eating God’s food not only nourishes our bodies but can also be a spiritual experience that helps us connect with the divine. When we consume God’s food mindfully, we can appreciate the blessings of the earth and the hard work of those who grow our food. This practice can help us feel gratitude for the abundance of food and the gift of life.Human beings are specifically designed to eat a particular kind of soul food: God’s Word. That’s why in both the Old and New Testaments, God emphasized that “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4).

God first chose a vegetarian diet for us. He only gave permission for people to eat foods such as grains, nuts and fruits from vegetables and trees. However, after the flood he gave permission to eat meat. People were told not to eat blood or fat, and only to eat ‘clean’ meat from animals that feed on plants or insects, rather than unclean meat from scavengers. (See Leviticus 11.) The food laws were given to mark the Israelites as God’s people, but they were good for the people’s health as well. The four classifications of food (trees that yield seed, plants that yield seed, field plants, clean meat) is the foundation of a Biblical diet. There are also other important things you should consider when starting or following a Biblical diet:

The theory of the spread of disease by infection would not develop for another 3500 years—but God was way ahead of science. Indeed, the Bible was written to reveal vital information that could not otherwise be easily known. Modern science has had to play “catch up” with God, learning important principles God gave freely to the children of Israel. In his article “The Theology of Unclean Food,” Gordon Wenham writes that “unclean animals were recognized by the ancients as a danger to health,” a fact he asserts has been verified by “advances in medical knowledge.” Wenham adds, “Moses was hailed as anticipating the findings of modern science.”2 As we will see in the next chapter, modern medical science has indeed validated what God has revealed concerning clean and unclean meats. Quoting from Isaiah (see above), Jesus accused the scribes and Pharisees of invalidating the Word of God by their traditions. Drawing a sharp distinction between the Jews’ traditions and the commandments of God, He said: “‘For leaving the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men, such as the washing of pots and cups [and ritual hand-washing]; and you practice many other things like this.’ Then He said to them, ‘Full well do you reject the commandment of God, so that you may observe your own tradition’” (verses 8-9).

God’s Food“ is a lesser-known fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm’s collection, which has been translated and adapted into various languages over the years. The Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm, were German scholars, linguists, and cultural researchers who are best known for their collection of folktales and legends. They published their first volume of „Children’s and Household Tales“ in 1812, containing 86 stories. By the time the seventh edition was published in 1857, the collection had grown to include over 200 tales. It is important to note that God was not personally “putting diseases” on anyone. Rather, what is really being discussed in these passages is a matter of cause and effect. If the children of Israel would diligently follow God’s loving instructions concerning good health—which in no small part included the laws of clean and unclean meats—then the result would be freedom from certain diseases.Unlike cows’ milk, scientists from the University of Granada has revealed that data concerning goats’ milk suggests that it could prevent diseases such as anemia and bone demineralization. Additionally, goats’ milk has properties that help with the digestive and metabolic utilization of minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. 7. Lamb
