About this deal

A rare crime novel truly as much about character as it is about plot…cried at the ending…huge potential series exploring the human AI connection. k.a a robot, as part of the Home Secretary’s latest pet project to improve and advance policing, and minimise bias and prejudice. This reads like it could be the beginning of a brand new series, and if so, I'm definitely up for it! I thought the AI premise was such a brilliant concept, feeling scarily plausible and highly effective. who knows maybe Mark Zuckerberg has a whole fleet of AI detectives scouring the internet for anti-metaverse individuals LOL.

Having said that, she was also very human and there were times during the investigation when she came close to breaking point. But, there’s a catch – she’s also to be partnered with AIDE Locke – an Artificially Intelligent Detecting Entity a.Her boss, Chief Constable McLeish has her head up a pilot project working alongside an Artificial Intelligence Detecting Entity (AIDE) named Lock, who appears as a hologram, very much a character and personality in his own right, the brainchild of Warwick University's Professor Okonedo, a woman with her own agenda. DCS Kat Frank has had a really tough time personally, she's been away from work for a while after the death of her husband.

When I started reading, I was afraid it would be too sci-fi-ish for me, that I would lose interest, because AI would be used as a prop and mocked, but none of those things happened, instead it is bit like the Stephen King film from the beginning of the 2000s, A. I started and was ready to give up after AIDE - Artificial Intelligence Detective Entity named Lock was introduced. But when the two missing persons cold cases they are reviewing suddenly become active, Lock is the only one who can help Kat when the case gets personal. She reluctantly accepts the role of lead in a pilot programme to work alongside an AI detective, known as AIDE Lock. Her boss put her in charge of a pilot program, working with AIDE (Artificially Intelligent Detective Entity) She is skeptical and is determined that the pilot will fail.Kat finds the only one who believes in her turns out to be Lock, and he is instrumental in helping her solve the cold cases that have become active investigations.
