Protexin Pro Kolin contains probiotics which are live microbial supplements given by mouth to improve the balance of micro-organisms in the intestinal tract, combat bacterial overgrowth and aid in the resolution of diarrhoea caused by a transient imbalance of the gut flora.

We recommend using 15ml and 30ml syringes for small to medium dogs but also in a handy 60ml syringe for larger dogs. Competition for nutrients– within the gut beneficial and pathogenic micro-organisms will be utilising the same types of nutrients. This results in a general competition between bacteria for these nutrients. When a probiotic is administered there is an overall reduction in nutrients available for pathogenic bacteria and consequently this minimises the levels of pathogenic micro-organisms. Protexin ProKolin Probiotic and Prebiotic Paste is a palatable paste containing kaolin and pectin, supplied in an easy to use calibrated syringe. Available in 15ml, 30ml and 60ml syringes for dogs and 15ml syringes for cats, Pro-Kolin Advanced features new and improved flavourings and specific formulations for cats and dog. Both flavourings contain no proteins or common allergens and can be used in animals with known hypersensitivities – ensuring excellent palatability for both cats and dogs, and ongoing owner compliance. Lactic acid production– probiotics produce lactic acid which acts to reduce the gut pH, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria, which prefer a more alkaline environment.

Administration Instructions

A natural 'friendly' bacterium, Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB 10415) 4b1707, which helps to keep the level of beneficial bacteria high and exclude pathogenic species. Pro-Kolin is a highly palatable paste which is available in 15ml, 30ml and 60ml syringes with easy to read graduations, making the product easy to administer. A natural 'friendly' bacterium, Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB4b1707, which helps to keep the level of beneficial bacteria high and exclude pathogenic species. They are entirely natural substances being presented in an oil base and not a water base; hence the bacteria are only activated once swallowed. Viability– the micro-organisms within a probiotic product should remain viable during their storage. The probiotics should also be able to pass safely through the stomach so that they can colonise the gut. A good freeze-drying process will enable the product to be stored at room temperature throughout the duration of its shelf life. Microencapsulation will afford protection throughout the high acidity of the stomach.

To administer the correct amount of the product use the handy wheel on the syringe plunger. Rotate the wheel until it is to the right of the number representing the desired quantity to be administeredSafety– the micro-organism chosen must be non-pathogenic and non-toxic. Within the EU all probiotics must be registered for use in an individual animal species. For example, Enterococcus faecium (NCIMB 10415) E1707 is registered for use in dogs.

Pro-Kolin Advanced has a 2 year shelf life from the date of manufacture. Once open replace the lid securely and store in a cool dry area. Stored correctly Pro-Kolin Advanced will last until the Best Before End date even if it has been opened. We recommend using 15ml and 30ml syringes for small to medium dogs and the 60ml syringe for larger dogs. Storage

Pro-Kolin Advanced contains beneficial micro-organisms, several prebiotic sources, an optimal level of a dual-source binding agent and soothing fibres to support gastrointestinal function.
