About this deal

Free memory card includedfor straight-out-of-the-box use. The DrivePro 200 includes a 16GB microSD memory card, enabling full HD-recording for up to 4 hours. Crafted from top-tier, MLC NAND flash chips, the memory card offers dependable performance and lasting service life. If you are looking for a WiFi enabled dash cam, the Transcend DrivePro 200 is a good value. Video quality is good (but not the greatest) and build quality is good. Unfortunately the form factor is not as discreet as we would like and GPS is not included. Manual activation. The device does not automatically turn on despite being plugged in when the car starts. The DrivePro 200 is not equipped with a vehicle motion-detection sensor; therefore, manual activation is required every time by pressing the on button. This may cause issues for users unaccustomed to switching the camera on before a drive.

Select Upgrade Firmware from the “Settings” menu and press “OK” to start the firmware detection process. The DrivePro will automatically find the new firmware file. All the regular dash cam features are there, such as auto on/off, loop recording, impact detection (G-sensor) and date/time stamp on video. A word of caution though: Several users have reported an issue with the camera not being able to keep the date/time settings for more than a couple of days when it is not in use. This is apparently due to the camera using a relatively low power capacitor instead of an internal battery. However, there are also many users who do not seem to be having this issue at all. Smallest dash cam available: Almost unnoticeable from outside the vehicle. Records 1080p video. Supports cloud connectivity, simple parking mode.Since there was no battery inside I came to the conclusion that the two super capacitators (3.3F 2.7V) where there to power the dashcam memory when it was turned off. Maximum storage capacity is 32GB.The DrivePro 200 accommodates microSD memory cards up to 32GB. Larger capacity cards will render the device inoperative. Date and time settings are not saved. We found the date and time settings need to be set every time the camera is turned on. This added step can be inconvenient and time-consuming, especially considering most dash cameras automate this feature. This is likely due to a low capacity super capacitor used in this camera. There is no resolution unless you are willing to replace the capacitor with a bigger one. Does not start recording

You can review recordings on the 2.4in screen, and there’s a speaker too, although you can’t adjust its volume. The screen has a fairly low resolution, but it’s designed to be viewed from below so although viewing angles aren’t great, it should look ok when mounted near your rear-view mirror. Transcend DrivePro 200 review: Performance I bought the Dashcam 2 years ago and it was almost as it knew it was past warranty because it began to mallfunction.Have now spoken to Transcend, older units cannot be upgraded to v2. Shame really, but they must have made a few Hardware changes in newer units. G-sensor sensitivity is higher than average. Some users have noted the G-sensor to be far too sensitive, triggering Emergency Recording even with small bumps to the car while driving such as going over speed ramps. The camera’s sensor perceives an event and falsely initiates Emergency Recording, which can take up valuable and unnecessary space on memory cards. We accidentally sent a push message while testing DrivePro mobile app, we will avoid this situation in the future. If you are the type of person who always removes tech from your car when parked, I guess this wouldn’t really be an issue. For a lazy person like me, however, I’d certainly opt for a less visible product. The Transcend DrivePro 200 may attract too much unwanted attention.
