different chorus and modulation effects for guitar and bass are provided, including phasing, flanging, tremolo, vibrato, detuning, auto-panning, rotary speaker emulations, and pitch shifting—even an intelligent harmonizer that plays along in key. Vintage sounds include simulations of the TC Electronic Corona Chorus and Tri-Chorus, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and CE-1 /CE-5 Chorus Ensembles, MXR M234 Analog Chorus, and Electro-Harmonix SmallClone, as well as the ADA flanger. Delays See also: updated firmware editor here, but you need Java Runtime Environment installed to run the .jar file. For the Amps, you probably don't need them all. For example, there are four vintage Fenders (B-MAN Deluxe-R, FD Combo, FD Vibro, US Blues) and four vintage Marshalls (B-Breaker, MS 1959, MS Crunch, Marshall Super Bass I). If you are installing any DRIVE and AMP effects on the MS-70CDR, you MUST install the file "CMN_DRV.ZDL" on your MS-70CDR. This is the "Common Drive" file that you won't see on your pedal's menus, but it is needed for Drive and Amp files to work. different chorus and modulation effects for guitar and bass are provided, including phasing, flanging, tremolo, vibrato, detuning, auto-panning, rotary speaker emulations, and pitch shifting—even an intelligent harmonizer that plays along in key. The MS-3 is technically a loop-switcher, aimed at being the core of a small rig. It's also a capable multi-effects unit in its own right though. Besides an intuitive interface and great core sounds, it benefits from Roland's excellent Librarian software for editing on a computer. It's a useful pedal, it's nice to have one, as long as you know the limitations and don't expect it to do what it can't do... I have it, but I don't use it much to be honest. And yet another complaint: Considering the limited on-pedal options, you would have thought Zoom would have included a PC/Mac editor for this, but they don't. Fortunately someone else here suggested using the Tonelib Zoom Editor and I am going to give that a try. The MS-70CDR's cutting-edge DSP microchip performs 32-bit floating-point calculations, giving it the ability to create sophisticated studio-quality effects such as the 25 rich, dense reverbs and realistic spatial simulations found here. These rooms, halls, arenas, plates, and springs allow you to add depth and spaciousness to your sound. Vintage emulations include the TC Electronic Hall of Fame and Nova, as well as the Digitech RV-7, the Eventide Space, the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail, and the strymon blueSky. Then run the custom firmware .exe file on your PC. This will detect your pedal and allow you to write the firmware. Don't unplug your pedal while it's happening. You can see the process on your pedal's screen.

Onboard chromatic tuner supports all standard guitar and bass tunings, including open and drop tunings

should not judge the Zoom units on price alone, because the value for money they offer really is off

You can't midi control the parameters (so no performance/automation... take that said filter, it's not that useful if I can't tweak it while something is going through the pedal - despite the filter being not up to my taste) and, afaik, you can't even theak two parameters at the same time (even on the same effect inside the fx chain)... it's a sort of "set it and forget it" device, not something you can "play". The reverbs don't seem very "expansive" and don't seem to add much dimension to the sound (I have a Boss RV500 that I'm 50/50 on selling, so trying to find some good ambient reverbs that might justify me getting rid of it) influenced by big name pedals from well-known manufacturers, and in many cases you get very close to Soon enough you find the quality of the effects in this little box are pretty good and you give it a place in your pedalboard to goof around with it.
