To be honest, I would have done the same thing. Aside from the 2 pin AUS power connector, the UK voltage is very similar and will have likely been supported by your charging stand. If you're using a UK appliance abroad you can use a UK to EU plug adapter as most have the round pin spacing on them. I've never seen an EU to UK bathroom adapter.
